Bikepacking: Turnhout
Saturday 5th – Sunday 6th September 2026
Train from Brussels to Antwerp on Saturday, then cycle about 60km to Turnhout. Most of this first leg follows the Kempenroute before turning north towards Turnhout. After staying there overnight, cycle about 60 km to Antwerp on Sunday and take the train back to Brussels.
The full weekend route is about 120km of cycling, mostly paved and largely flat.

Accommodation
You’re responsible for booking your own accommodation in or around Turnhout, whether that’s a campsite, hotel, or whatever suits you.
A WhatsApp group will be available to discuss where to stay, coordinate shared accommodation, and general chat. Some options are listed below, but feel free to do your own research. Ideally you should try and stay within 5km of Turnhout.
We’ll also use the group chat to organise dinner or drinks on Saturday evening.
Hotels
Corsendonk Viane — Korte Vianenstraat 2. 3-star. ~0.3km from the centre.
RS10 Turnhout — Renier Sniedersstraat 10. Small family-run boutique hotel, highly rated. Central location.
Turnhout City Hotel — near the train station. 4-star. ~0.75km from the centre (Grote Markt).
B&B
Bon-Bon ‘nuit’ — Small, centrally located B&B approximately 400 metres from the centre
Camping
There’s really only one established campsite within range but it’s a good one. Baalse Hei — Roodhuisstraat 10, Turnhout. Full campsite with pitches plus a handful of cabins, set around a small lake with a beach area. Good reviews for cycling routes running right from the gate. About 4.3 km cycling distance from the centre of Turnhout.
